We are seeking someone with a passion for innovation and technology, who possesses experience with mechanical manufacturing and electro-mechanical design.
Role Responsibilities
Design, prototype, and test aircraft electric propulsion system
Develop and oversee automated manufacturing methods for propulsion system
CAD design of test equipment, jigs, and fixtures
Research and develop next generation electro-mechanical parts
Validation, optimization and testing of prototype and production parts
Integration of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems
Thermal and mechanical modeling and testing of electric propulsion systems

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering
Keen eye for detail, experience with quality control and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in 3D modeling (CATIA preferred)Proficiency in 2D documentation and GD&T
Experience in prototype manufacturing in a professional environment
Experience in rigorous scientific methods for testing and troubleshooting
Demonstrate hands-on design, build, and test experience through student teams, co-op, and/or personal projects
Optional Qualifications
Previous experience with electric motors, batteries, propellers
Familiarity with electro-mechanical aircraft components including motor, battery, wire-harness, and charging systems
Manufacturing background in a factory setting
Knowledge and experience with manufacturing automation, production manufacturing, product lifecycle management, and 3D Printing
